We were at the Israel Bond dinner tonight and I barely managed to get out of there without having to be personally gripped and grinned by Melina Kennedy and David Orentlicher. Throughout dinner they were both working the room. Orentlicher was running around in his shirt sleeves at a "black tie optional" dinner, which is the kind of thing that seriously annoys me as a gentleman; I was there in a suit and tie even though it must have been 80 degrees in the room.
Dan Burton was also there, and he sat and ate his dinner and left people alone.
That right there suggests to me the difference between the two parties.
(I have to admit that Orentlicher's wife -- who I did meet, but not in a political sense -- is a sweetheart. And full disclosure, my wife teaches their kids how to swim. I'm still planning to vote for Kathryn Densborn.)
