Local and stately

Any district that would return Julia Carson to Congress in a fair vote has clearly got severe mental problems.

And as dirty as the contest was between Hill and Sodrel, we really didn't need Hill back in Congress. You'd think we would have learned the first time.

I was never impressed with the Davis for Sheriff campaign. It's sad that the Republicans couldn't have come up with someone better than Frank Anderson, whom even the cops on the street wanted to give the boot.

And that asshole Orentlicher won again. Pubbies need to do better in District 86 next time. Find a better candidate, for one thing. The problem in 86 is that Orentlicher has the Jewish vote, even from Jewish voters I know who otherwise vote Republican. The tribe has GOT to stop sticking together on politics -- this guy is a lousy rep, and he needed to be tossed on his ear. I say this as a Jew myself, there's nothing anti-Semitic about it -- I'm just disgusted about my knee-jerk co-religionists.

At least we re-elected Brizzi. That will be a stick in Bart's eye for the next year till we throw the bum out.

We have got to do something about turnout. There are nearly 900,000 people in Marion County and it looks like only about 180,000 voted. That's sad. It suggests that if more Republicans had turned out, things might have looked different locally.

And I'll make the point that I was physically so sick that I thought I was going to heave the entire time I was out to vote. But I went anyway. It's that important.

To all those who didn't vote in this election: Fuck you very much.
