Not.
The Indianapolis Star has run, two days in a row, two nearly-identical letters from a John Kamerud of Carmel, suggesting that it's time to "dump Dan" Burton.
Time to dump Dan from District 5Dan Burton has served for 12 terms as representative from Indiana's 5th District. After 24 years of feeding at the public trough, can anyone name one single accomplishment of his? He has spent considerable effort on his failed personal crusade to place the blame for autism on pharmaceutical companies (like Eli Lilly) despite scientific evidence to the contrary, meanwhile working to deregulate the so-called "alternative medicine" industry. Widely considered a right-wing extremist, even by members of his own party, Burton is a poor representative of the people of Indiana. This election cycle, with anti-incumbent sentiment running high, isn't it time we "Dump Dan"?

I mean, I can see running identical obits for two days, but not letters to the editor -- especially not political letters to the editor just a week out from the election.
The Indy Star. As usual, fairly unbalanced.
PS: Dear Mr. Kamerud: I'd be happy to swap you Dan for Julia.
EDIT: To post the letter contents, since the Star will disappear them after a week.
