I disagree. I find it most disingenuous that he would do such a thing when his symptoms are controlled by medication. In essence all he is really doing is saying, "here's what happens if I go off my meds", or at least that would be the way I'd see it. Because it's clear that on most occasions when he's seen, he doesn't exhibit severe Parkinson's symptoms!
I'm sure it is no picnic to live with Parkinson's -- my grandmother had it. At the same time, it is misleading to go before the public with your symptoms in full flower and not at least admit that your symptoms are controlled with medication.
Basically I'm tired of people lying about cures for disease that not only don't exist yet, but are so theoretical that we don't even really know what we're looking for, and making political hay over reasonable restrictions on research.
