Bound and determined

Stephen Jackson needs to go. Now.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Indiana Pacers guard Stephen Jackson fired several shots early Friday morning following an altercation in which he was hit in the mouth and struck by a car outside a strip club, police said.

Investigators said Jackson was with three other Pacers players, Jamaal Tinsley, Marquis Daniels and Jimmie Hunter, when an altercation began inside Club Rio, on 38th Street.

The altercation spilled out into the parking lot at about 3 a.m. Jackson told police he was hit in the mouth and then struck by a car, which knocked him onto the hood of his black Bentley.

Police said Jackson, 28, pulled a 9 mm gun and fired at least four shots, which investigators believe were fired in self-defense. Investigators said they don't know if any of the shots hit the vehicle that struck Jackson.

"It appears at this time to be a case of self-defense," said Indianapolis police Sgt. Matthew Mount. "We don't know what started the altercation right now, but he did try to run him over with the car."

Police said the vehicle that struck Jackson is a late-model blue Oldsmobile with chrome wheels.

Three of the Pacers had guns. Jackson and Tinsley had Indiana gun permits. Daniels had a gun permit from Florida.

Cut him. Please. I don't care if he had a gun permit, this is just a straw too many for this camel to carry.

The Pacers absolutely need to be a no-thug zone. What part of that do Pacers management not understand?
