Nope. The correct Jewish response would be
1 - Drag Dr. Death back to the room, etc.
2 - Then tackle forgiveness.
Ha-shaarei teshuvah -- the gates of repentance -- are open, we are told, until the very last moment. In the meantime, bitch-slap Dr. Death. God would probably approve.
