And although people make fun of Kerry for his vacations and days off, I think it's smart. Running for President is exhausting and miserable. (Hell, blogging about people running for President can be that way.) Like Ronald Reagan's naps, these breaks are a good thing, even if people make fun.
Yeah. Kerry better get his nappin' in while he still can, because if he's elected President, he won't have time for it. You can bitch and moan about all the time Bush has taken off in Crawford during his term, but it's interesting how he's always got someone coming to the ranch and work keeps getting done.
Compare and contrast to the Clintons going to, say, Martha's Vineyard, and whooping it up without any real productivity occuring. (I don't actually know that it didn't, but I don't remember that Clinton ever had, say, the president of Russia up to MV for a weekend summit, and knowing what we all know about Clinton, I imagine Saxophone Boy was probably out chasing skirt more than he was worrying about the country.)
Kerry is just an elitist tool. He takes vacations because he's rich and he can. And then he blames other people for his problems ("that bastard tripped me"). And I could also make the point that he ought to attend to his duties in the Senate once in a while instead of going on perpetual vacation. If he handles the Oval Office like he does the Senate, we're in for a LONG four years. (Or perhaps a very exciting -- in the wrong sense of the word -- four years.)
