Powell must be reading Den Beste

From the Good Times:

Secretary of State Colin L. Powell said yesterday that the U.S.-led coalition must take the lead in Iraq's postwar reconstruction but offered the United Nations a limited role through the participation of a special coordinator.

Hee.

But the secretary's European colleagues, particularly the more vocal ones, continued to insist on a leading role for the United Nations.

"We must stabilize Iraq and the region," said French Foreign Minister Dominique de Villepin. "The United Nations is the only international organization that can give legitimacy to this."

Like the frogs know anything about legitimacy.

Belgian Foreign Minister Louis Michel said, "I don't see how we could contribute to the reconstruction without the United Nations playing the key role."

Who says we want your sorry-ass postage-stamp quasi-frog country contributing anyway, asshole?

Despite Mr. Powell's and Mr. Robertson's statements, German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer described Washington's proposal for NATO participation as "a very abstract idea, about which we are skeptical."

Ja, mein freund, I'll bet you are. Fucking commie asshole.
